Today’s guest is an amazing photographer and a good friend of mine Warren Grant of Warren Grand Photography. Warren has led a very interesting life caught between the United States and the Bahamas. Even so he managed to make things work with a life story that is one to be heard. Warren’s discussion on growing up in the U.S and his exploits in the military, EMT, photographer and teacher is definitely a conversation you will never forget.
I first met Warren at a photographers gathering in Nassau. It was a long overdue event and there were a good many photographers present at this event. We all talked and shared our love of photography and eventually connected via a Facebook group and we all got to know each other better.
I must admit hearing his story was an exiting one. Warren has a knack for story telling and tells his story so well that its something you just have to sit and listen to it in awe. One could never have known that his life was so interesting.
Moving from one profession to the other but exceling and doing his best in them all. Its nice to know however that the one thing that was constant in his life was photography. Through his life training it has brought him to a point where there are few in the Bahamas that could match his style of shooting.
Over the years we called upon each other for assistance in certain matters and built a good working and personal relationship. Our discussions have always seemed interesting to me hence a good candidate to be on this episode of focus on art.
They say you can never really know a person and this conversation was a great example of that statement. I found out a lot about Warren, his background his history his present and his future. This was genuinely a really good conversation that I enjoyed having and I’m sure you will enjoy listening to it as well.
Photographer in the Making
Learning photography in high school is something that is not particularly heard of here in the Bahamas but because he grew up in the Unite States it was a normal thing. Learning at an early age made photography almost a life long pursuit for Warren. We discussed his teacher and a few stories along the way and how learning photography got him one of his first serious jobs as a photographer.
Warren primarily is known as a wedding photographer but he is very versatile in the art of photography. He loves sunset photos shoots and its evident with many of his images. His style is quite unique and very distinguishable from others in the market. His military background makes his business skills in the art of being on time and getting the job done above board.
Military man
I knew that warren grand was in the military but never knew what he did. Amazingly he drove tanks, like how cool is that. Perhaps not so cool during war but cool none the less.
If you think that is something interesting, how he made the decision to join the army is even more interesting and will put a smile on your face. Of course with a good story in mind you have to listen to it to hear some of his military stories.
Emergency Medical Technician
I know this gets better as you read. Warren Grant of Warren Grant Photography is a certified EMT working here in the Bahamas. He started while in the military worked the streets of America for a while before bringing all those skills here to the Bahamas.
So no matter where you are with him know that he has the skills to save your life… well as a military man take your life and save it. Either way your safe.
