Donnie Yen is a Hong Kong martial artist, actor, film director, action choreographer and film producer. His movies reflect his thoughts and views on the world at large. Donnie made his way through the martial arts acting scene by acting as a stunt man up to staring in films and soon directing his own films. He has acted alongside great actors such as Michelle Yeoh, Jet Li, Sammo Hung and even Jackie Chan.

Biography
Born 27 July 1963 in the Chinese province of Canton Donnie is a well known martial artist, actor, film director, action choreographer and film producer. Yen came to Hong Kong at age but moved to Boston later in life. Donnie lived with his mother who ran the internationally known Chinese Wushu Research Institute
Donnie, like most famous actors, began as a stuntman in most of his earlier films such as Shaolin Drunkard and Taoism Drunkard. He took on his first acting role in Drunken Tai Chi, and even though it was not a huge hit as the box office it gave him some acclaim as a martial arts actor.
Donnie Yen’s luck changed with his role as General Nap-lan in Once Upon a Time in China II in 1992,. His role in this film showcased his skills with the awesome fight scenes between his character and Wong Fei-hung played by Jet Li. Donnie Yen and Jet Li appeared in another film called Hero, where Yen played a spear fighter who fought with Li’s character, the unnamed swordsman.

Flash Point Synopsis
This movie stars donnie yen is Inspector Ma, a no nonsense cop who wants nothing more than to get rid of all the bad guys off the street. He works with his partner Wilson (Louis Koo) who is deep undercover with the syndicate crime boss brothers. Things get personal when the brothers crime syndicate is disrupted by the police force and they are forced to go underground, but the eldest brother played by Colin Chow is not going without a fight. He decides to find out who is behind the incarceration of his brother and the fall of his empire. Suspecting inspector Wilson he tricks him into exposing himself.
Inspector Ma has had enough of the crime syndicate and decides to take matters into his own hands. The movie climaxes with a battle between Donnie Yen and Colin Chow in some fast and hard hitting action very well choreographed.
This movie is a must not only for Donnie Yen fans but anyone who enjoys a good movie with a sensible plot and great fight scenes.

Iron Monkey Synopsis
Many martial arts fans may not know it but this movie is actually a remake of the 1977 film with the same title. This movie is based in Canton during the Qing dynasty; things are hard all around especially with the poor. The iron monkey is a masked man acting as a robin hood character helping the less fortunate while enraging the local officials and business men. Donnie yen plays the role of an herbal doctor looking for new herbs with his son Wong Fei-hung. Mistakenly his son is caught up with the officials and is held ransom unless he can capture the iron monkey for them. As a fate would have it he soon becomes friends with the local herbal doctor who is actually the Iron monkey.
Soon they are both defending the weak with their martial arts skills and it takes both fighters to defeat a powerful yet dark monk with awesome powers in the martial arts. This movie is a classic Donnie Yen film with great fight scenes well choreographed and a plot that will keep the viewer focused and glued to the screen from beginning to end.
